This initial money taken is called the Boot amount which progressively increases as the game continues. In the end, the money collected in the pot is taken away by the winner.

CERTAIN TERMINOLOGIES

  • Blind player: the one who plays without seeing the cards. If the blind player is playing first, then the bet amount should be equal to or twice the boot amount. The only options available for blind players are to play Blind, Pack, or Show.
  • Stake amount: the bet placed by the first player is the stake amount of the next. In the case of the next blind player, the stake amount is equal or double the original while it is half for the seen player.
  • Blind show: when there is only one opponent left in the game, a blind player can ask the opponent to show his or her cards. Seen player: the player who plays while seeing his or her cards. A Seen player has the advantage over blind players as he or she can play Chaal, Pack, or Sideshow.
  • (a) Chaal: players must play Chaal in order to continue or win the game. The bet amount is kept in the pot by the one playing Chaal. For a seen player, the bet is twice or four times the current stake amount. If the preceding player is blind then the bet is equal to the stake amount but if he is a seen player then the bet becomes half of the stake amount.
  • (b) Side Show: only a seen player can ask for Side Show when he or she wants to compare his cards with the preceding seen player. In order to do that, the one demanding to compare must put a bet amount equal to twice the current stake amount. The previous player has the option to deny the comparison.
  • Playing Teen Patti: after contributing to the pot, each player receives 3 cards facing down. The clockwise next player has the option to either play blind or see his cards. As the game continues the stake grows and in the end, the player having the highest hand wins the game.
